Homelessness Action Week 2015<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

This year\u2019s Homelessness Action Week in New Westminster included a number of events.<\/p>\n

On Monday, the traditional Thanksgiving meal was served up by Union Gospel Mission<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Connect Day was hosted by Holy Trinity Cathedral<\/a> on Tuesday. Twenty-six organizations participated and over 100 people attended. All kinds of services were on offer, from donated clothing to hearing tests to pet services.<\/p>\n

Wednesday was the night of the art show, sponsored by Purpose Society<\/a> and UGM. Both clients and representatives of local agencies attended and there were some remarkable pieces on display.<\/p>\n

On Thursday we held our annual fundraising dinner. The event included Kathhryn Gretsinger as MC, and the inestimable Judy Graves, longterm homeless activist, as guest speaker. HAVE Caf\u00e9 supplied a delicious meal and we had more than twenty community members generously donate items to the silent auction, which raised over $1500.<\/p>\n
